Ms. Poor –
Room 8
Because this course is
extremely important for a student's success, I take my responsibility to
teach it very seriously. Not only is Biology I required for graduation,
students must also pass a State Assessment in Biology I.

But
that doesn't mean it can't be an enjoyable, enlightening experience!
At Sumner Hill, we have developed a
curriculum designed to help students surpass all expectations. Lessons
will include research-based activities geared to get the mind going (otherwise
known as inquiry-based science). And although the textbook is an
important reference, it is certainly not the only tool we'll use for learning.
My classroom is equipped with 5 internet ready computers, notes are given using
presentation software and an LCD overhead projector, and lab facilities are
equipped to foster a "Hands-on, Minds-on" environment.
This website is for students and
parents to use to keep track of what's happening in my class this year.
I've included some useful information as well as some useful links. I hope
it will come in handy!
I'm really looking forward to
this year, and I hope you are as well!
