The Clows

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings from Monroe, Louisiana. This year saw big changes in our lives due to a relocation. We are extremely happy to be back in mid-America again and much closer to the boys and other family. Email has changed to kclow@jam.rr.com (Ken) and clows@jam.rr.com (Susan), and the website has moved to http://home.jam.rr.com/clows. We recently joined St. Paul’s UMC in Monroe. It’s great to be in Louisiana and we dearly love the weather, which is fantastic for water activities! This December we celebrated twelve years of marriage. God has blessed us in so many ways!

We bought a beautiful single-story home with plenty of room—and our own swimming pool. Ken is enjoying his job as dean of the College of Business Administration at The University of Louisiana at Monroe. In addition, he is currently working on four textbooks (Integrated Advertising Promotions & Marketing Communications, Services Marketing, Essentials of Marketing, and Encyclopedia of Advertising), and while there is much to celebrate—deservedly for him because he works soooo hard all the time—he’s about maxed out on commitments at the moment.

Susan enrolled at ULM as a full-time sophomore student this fall, taking five classes. This has kept her extremely busy and it has been difficult to adjust to a totally different lifestyle than anything she has encountered since the 1970s. (I could almost feel like a kid again, but being around these college students makes me feel old!) She recently learned that she made all A’s. Considering how she studied and agonized over each class, anything else would have been surprising.

Dallas is taking classes for a master’s degree in Applied Physics, and is still at Raytheon. Earlier this year he visited Switzerland and Italy while in Europe to see Andi. He also vacationed in Ft. Lauderdale and Key West. During the summer he and Wes bought a mobile home and moved to Wylie TX. He, Dallas and Tiff are sailing to the Bahamas over Christmas and New Year’s.

Wes is currently a senior at the University of Texas at Dallas, and part-owner in a mobile home where he lives with Tiffany and Dallas; he’s also planning to purchase land in the Bahamas. Recently he learned that he will be working for Texas Instruments after the holidays.

Tim is still working for Students In Free Enterprise at Springfield MO and travels extensively in his territory. He’s also managing the AmeriCorps*VISTA program for SIFE as well. Recently he purchased a new black Hyundai Sonata. He and Heather vacationed in San Francisco on frequent flyer miles (racks up a lot of those) and he also went to the Bahamas. After the holidays, he will be moving from his apartment and into a house with a fellow co-worker.

Roy is still working at Pittsburg State University, while also taking classes at PSU. He has plans to go to Korea in May. He also recently bought another car, but still rides his motorcycle (probably too much). He also plays keyboard for a group.
