BOATING!

Here are some boating pictures. Ken and I really enjoy boating. We have a 19' open-bow inboard/outboard Stingray. She is called the "Free Spirit" and is very light and fast, with a z-plane hull and 135hp engine. She'll do 47mph with two people aboard. (One of these days we've got to get the name painted on her.) We always go boating on the Ouachita River, since that's the closest water. One of these days, after getting new tires on the boat trailer, we'll check out some area lakes. We really want to go to Toledo Bend on the Louisiana/Texas border. That would have to be a weekend trip, but what fun!

Louisiana wildlife includes a lot of birds, turtles, some deer, and quite a few watercraft (haha), but we did see our first 'gator. Below is a picture of two alligators and perhaps a snake, though Ken and I are in disagreement as to if it's a dead snake or a tree limb. I like to fish once in a while, but Ken won't let me fish off the boat. This area is known as the Sportsman's Paradise. Now we have two dogs to take boating.
